How do I recover Airdropped photos and videos?

Hi all I’ve came across a problem with airdropped photos. My friend airdropped me 300 photos and videos from her phone as her iCloud is full. We didn’t import them right away and they’ve disappeared. Is there any way to recover them? She’s permanently deleted them from her phone.

If you didn't accept and then load the photos into your photo library, or didn’t accept and then store the files into Files locally or into iCloud Drive or elsewhere, then the photos are gone.

If y’all were trying to use AirDrop itself as transient storage—using Apple storage without using your own storage somewhere—that doesn’t work.
