Every time my laptop shuts down or I update the laptop or open multiple tabs and then open my icloud I have the two-step authentification notice pop up and have to have my phone with me to approve the laptop. When I say "trust device" and click "remember device" then go to my apple account and look under devices- my laptop is not listed. Anyone know what I'm missing or doing wrong? Thanks

Nothing wrong. A Windows computer cannot be a trusted device. It can appear as a device into which you are logged in with an Apple ID under devices
