Apple has absolutely removed DVD burning from Final Cut with the 10.8 update (I have the reason why)

Yup. Make sure you keep a previous version of FCP and Compressor for projects that require DVD output. (Create a zip archive before updating.)

Roxio Toast used to be the "go-to" app if you didn't want to use Apple's DVD creators.

Their current prices of £73 and £93 are ridiculous but I notice they do a version on the App Store for £20.

Zip up the copy on the iMac Pro and copy to the other machines. Enabling auto-update on production machines is very risky.

I love how Apple doesn't understand how businesses still work since they only want digital, but we still have clients who want DVDs sometimes. We can't always just go digital no matter how they want us to.

A "Senior Adviser" in a call center is simply reading from the same answer book everyone else is. And they have no real inside information. I don't buy what he's telling you, doesn't reflect the market demand.
