Pages keep quitting unexpectedly

All the time I have had this Macbook M1 Pages will quit by itself. No error message. Suddenly it is not running anymore. Have been like that through all versions of the program, and MacOS during these years. I see many people raising this problem here in the support community and the answer is always the same: Update pages and MacOS.

Well I must have done that a dozen times by now. It solves nothing.
