Hi I mistakenly entered the wrong address in trying to setup my iPhone 7plus instead of using @icloud.com I used @gmail.com and it was accepted. Now it’s asking for me to enter Apple ID password for the wrong address

You should be able to hit cancel in the top left and re-type the Apple ID
Are you still in setup or into iOS at this point? If you are in iOS you can go to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign Out

i tried that …….notice even the @gmail.com address is what they are also asking me to get new password for if I choose forget password option which can’t work cause it’s not an iCloud account
The wrong address like it’s embedded in there
