Magic Keyboard no lights? 🧐

Hello Apple world, I recently set up my home office and completed my keyboard with a magic keyboard. After a few days of using this thing I truly enjoy the keys and the response of the keys. One thing that is puzzling me though is the fact that it does not light up. For reference, I am using this with a MacBook in clamshell mode until my I get my Mac mini set up, not sure if that is an issue or not, I have looked into the settings, not sure if I am overlooking that setting.
