pesty pop-ups

I am getting popups with fake messages that my system is corrupt. How do I get rid of these popups?

Trojan Virus Message I have Trojan Virus messages pop ups every time I open a browser, I think someone use my computer and downloaded something they shouldn't have. Now my question is how do I get rid of those notifications?
