Search function on ExFAT drives not working

Reindexing won't fix things. The drive's creation date is set to 01.01.1970 (yes, nineteenhundredandseventeen!). Drive has been formatted using Sonoma and the disk tool coming with it.

Same for SSDs and USB Sticks.

I have a Windows formatted exFAT here and although it has the hidden .Spotlight-V100 directory on it, would not respond to a Spotlight or Terminal initiated mdls search of any file on the mounted exFAT volume.

I then double-checked the System Settings > Siri & Spotlight > Spotlight Privacy… panel and discovered that my exFAT drive was sitting in there. Once I selected and removed [-] it, my Spotlight searches of files on the mounted exFAT drive worked properly.

Using Sonoma 14.6.1.
