Why can't I load Pages in iCloud on my Windows laptop?

on my windows laptop in icloud.com I can't load any pages document. it loads then says "sorry, something is wrong" then "you'll need to close this document".

this is a new problem (as of yesterday). I've been able to load and edit pages documents from the laptop for a long time (until yesterday).

Any idea of what's wrong? I wish the error message was more descriptive.
