iPad Air 2 for drawing

Can an iPad Air 2 be used for a drawing tablet? If so, what is a compatible stylus?

The iPad Air2 fundamentally does not support Apple Pencil. As such, while you can draw, you will have to use your finger or a basic "passive" stylus.

While a basic stylus has no more capability than your fingertip, you might be able to be more accurate with screen placement.

Be aware that the iPad Air2 cannot be updated to iPadOS 16 or later - and as such your choice of drawing Apps will likely be significantly more restricted than iPads that run the current version of iPadOS - at time of writing, this being iPadOS 17.6.1.
