My iphone13 and ipad pro were not syncing anything until I had to change my appleid password. I did not change any settings on either device. Just changed my appleid password. Now my text messages are syncing between devices. I do not want the text messages on my ipad. Both devices have the 'sync this ipad' or 'sync this iphone' turned off under the cloud drive. There has to be something obvious I'm missing. Can anyone help?

Turn off text messaging forwarding on your device.
Turn this off Set up iCloud for Messages on all your devices - Apple Support
