MacBook Pro 13” 2019 (A2159) Battery and Top Case

Recently the battery life on my MacBook Pro hasn't been very good, only about 2-3 hours when doing basic school work. I have been thinking of getting a new one but am also considering having the battery replaced. I am curious though, when the battery is replaced does this include a whole new Top Case? I have also been having issues with my Touch Bar (green tint) so having a new top case would be most advantageous, especially if it’s looped into the $249 cost of the battery replacement. Any recommendations or insight?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.6

The TouchBar is part of the Top Case Assembly.

However, the Touchbar has two connections to the Logic Board. So the Touchbar issue could be due to either component, but the physical Touchbar is probably the more likely.

I don't usually recommend repairing these USB-C Intel Macs for multiple reasons, but a battery replacement is one of those times where a good case could be made for both options.

I will warn you that you do need to hope that the Apple tech focuses on the Battery issue and ignores any Keyboard or Touchbar issues or the repair will jump to over twice the cost even though the same part is used. Who knows what the Apple tech will actually do if they see the Touchbar issue. FYI, Apple is no longer including the Trackpad with the Top Case Assembly.
