Any help here?
1. Open the System Settings app.
2. Search for "Login Items" in the search bar.
3. Click the Login Items page that appears in the results.
4. Scroll down to the "Allow in background" section.
5. Turn OneDrive on or off. There is also a "Microsoft OneDrive" entry on some versions; this will control our update program.
You can disable OneDrive to "Allow it in the background" and then manually enable it when you need to use it.
This may cause you some trouble, but it will have the same effect until the OneDrive development team restores the ability to launch the app on its own.
App store version, or downloaded direct from Microsoft (and if the latter, when and what OS version were you on at the time)? Might help determine if the issue is with a modern login item or an older LaunchAgent or LaaunchDaemon (can't recall which one OneDrive used to launch it's helper)
Thanks for your quick response.
I have an issue with OneDrive not syncing, and the icon (as shown in the attached picture) indicates that I need to allow OneDrive to run in the background. When I click on it, it shows a message saying, "Please allow OneDrive in background app."
I’m not sure what you mean… it does run in the background. What are you seeing that makes you think it isn’t doing so.
Hi BDAqua, do you work with Monterey? I'm asking because on my iMac with MacOS Monterey thee is no "Allow in background" section. I can only see it on my MacBook with macOS Sonoma.
Ah, no idea how I missed that, sorry.:(
