the photos will open in a editing suite as raw ! But not in apple photos only started doing this over the last month or so. Tried various things to rectify nothing works.? Can anyone help!!

Is this Apple ProRAW or some other RAW format? Every RAW format is different, and not all are supported. If you option click the apple menu and select System Information, the list of supported formats is near the bottom.
Thanks Richard, but it’s been working fine for a year or so, but just suddenly stopped opening the the raw files, ok in jpeg& raw together but its just raw on its own that’s stopped opening!!! But will take a look at what you suggested.ta
hi rich ta for help just noticed out of the blue, my raw files that where taken on my canon r3 are still blank in apple photos! but now when you click on them they will now open!! & you can edit them too, as before they just stayed blank and you couldn't open or edit them in apple photos! iv not touched or done anything different, its really weird ? its got to be something to do with apple photos.!! will try taking a few shots in raw only on camera & see what happens, its really frustrating as I like to shoot in raw being into photography !!
