1. Check Internet Connection

- Make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data. Try loading a webpage in Safari to confirm the connection.

2. Force Close and Reopen the Mail App

- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or double-click the Home button on older models) to bring up the app switcher.

- Swipe up on the Mail app to close it completely.

- Reopen the Mail app and check if it refreshes.

3. Restart Your iPhone

- Restart your iPhone by holding the power button and either volume button (on newer iPhones) or the power button alone (on older iPhones).

- After restarting, open the Mail app again.

4. Check Mail Fetch Settings

- Go to Settings, then Mail, then Accounts, and select Fetch New Data.

- Make sure that Push is enabled (if available) for your email accounts.

- If Push is not available, make sure Fetch is set to automatically refresh at regular intervals.

5. Remove and Re-add the Email Account

- Go to Settings, then Mail, then Accounts.

- Select the email account that is not refreshing, then tap Delete Account.

- Re-add the account by tapping Add Account and following the setup instructions.

6. Update iOS

- Go to Settings, then General, and select Software Update.

- If there is an update available, install it, as it may fix bugs related to the Mail app.

7. Reset Network Settings

- Go to Settings, then General, then Transfer or Reset iPhone, then Reset, and select Reset Network Settings.

- This will reset your Wi-Fi, VPN, and other network settings but won’t delete your data.

8. Check Mail Server Settings (Manual Configuration)

- If you have a manually configured account, verify the server settings. Go to Settings, then Mail, then Accounts, select the account, and tap the account name to view the incoming and outgoing mail server settings. Ensure they are correctly configured.

9. Check Storage Space

- Go to Settings, then General, and select iPhone Storage to check how much free storage space you have. Low storage might prevent apps from functioning properly.

10. Reset All Settings

- If all else fails, you can try resetting all settings. Go to Settings, then General, then Transfer or Reset iPhone, then Reset, and select Reset All Settings.

- This will reset your preferences but won’t delete your data.
