Audio problems in FCPX

Hello everybody,

this issue happens to me time to time and I can't tell why some projects work flawlessly and some not.

But in my current project, which is about 25 minutes long, XAVC 4K 4:2:2 shot in S-log (my most commonly used format), which contains different audio sources (mics), some multicam parts and several music tracks - mostly in .m4a format. All data is located on a fast external Thunderbolt SSD, so speed is usually no issue even with bigger multicams.

Usually after some minutes of editing, FCPX stops playing back the audio. Than I stop the playback and the audio starts playing. This persists until I restart FCPX and than the same game starts again and it is very annoying.

I tried reencoding the music thacks to AIFF 48kHz, but it didn't change anything. All the other audio is 24bit/48kHz.

This is making me think of switching to other NLE ... so bad...

I rarely use Chrome, but certain on-line applications work better in Chrome and some even don't work properly in Safari (some goverment apps), so unfortunatelly I need to keep it or maybe I could try replacing it with Firefox if it is a better choice. To my knowledge, no browser is 100% perfect. Safari is probably the most trustworthy to my knowledge but it can't handle everything. Unfortunatelly mayority of the world runs Windows and some things are therefore not optimized for Safari and MacOS.

As per the clean install - maybe one day ... but it will be a big headache, given how many apps I'm using.
