Is there a way to add tasks to Calendar events?
Is there a way to add tasks to calendar so I don't have to switch back and forth to see what needs doing on each particular day?

Not at this time. Apple has, however, announced that such integration will be introduced in iOS 18.
In the meantime, if you don't want to wait, there are lots of apps in the App Store that do what you want. I'm partial to Fantastical.
