Scanner Feature On My HP 6055e Not Working As Well As It Used To After Sonoma Was Installed On My MAC

I found a thread that had no solution to this same issue I'm still having now (summer 20204). Has there been any resolution yet? It seemed to happen automatically that the HP app reverted to the Image Capture on my MAC. In my opinion, Image Capture is an inferior replacement of HP's Scanner feature. For example, creating PDF formatted scans of multiple pages into a single PDF file doesn't seem to work at all in Image Capture ..... unless there's some sort of easy work around????
