How to approve a Find My "Notify Me" request from an Apple Watch

I purchased an Apple Watch with cellular connection for my daughter, mainly for the Find My feature. However, when I send a request to be notified when she arrives or leaves a locations, she does not get the notification to approve the request and we have not found a way to manually approve it from the watch. For reference, the watch was set up using my phone using the "set up for family" option. Can you please advice how to use this very usual feature from the watch? Thank you!
