An ant found its way into my iPhone 15 Pro Max receiver

Ant Entered My iPhone 15 Pro Max - How Is This Possible?

Hi everyone,

Today, I encountered something strange with my brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max. I noticed a tiny ant on the device, and to my surprise, it managed to enter the ear speaker space and vanished completely! I waited to see if it would come back out, but it never did.

Upon closer inspection, I found a very small hole on the left side of the ear speaker space. This got me wondering: if the iPhone 15 Pro Max is supposed to be sealed and waterproof, how could such a tiny ant enter my phone?

Is this normal, or could it be a potential issue with the device? Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has an IP68 rating.

The first number represents a solid resistance. A 6 represents dust tight and in fact, is the highest rating possible on this scale for solids. The second number represents liquid resistance. The 8 rating tells us the phone is resistant to being immersed in water.

This rating does not however mean that water/solids cannot get into the speaker/microphone grills or the charge port.

It only means that it should not be a problem if it DOES get in those specified areas.

A tiny bug crawling in your speaker grill should be no problem as it should not be able to find its way into the internals of the phone because of the dust tight seal. It should eventually work its way out.
