Will Apple Music on my iPhone mess with my library on iTunes (laptop).

I’ve been a Spotify user for quite a while now (coming up on 5 years now), but recently I’ve been thinking about switching over to Apple Music for various reasons that aren’t important to this discussion.

I’m a CD collector, and I have converted many of my CDs over to my iTunes library on my laptop. My main concern with signing up for Apple Music is a little hard to explain.

Essentially my question is: if I sign up, will all the music I add on my AM subscription also show up on my laptop with my CD downloads? And if so is there any way to STOP that from happening? Essentially will I be able to keep my personal iTunes library SEPARATE from my Apple Music subscription library? Because if I cannot it will mess up my whole system.

(Keep in mind I’m only talking about my laptop, I just want my laptop’s iTunes app to show me all the music I converted from CDs all in one place WITHOUT mixing in the AM music. On my phone’s music app it does not matter. Apologies if I’m over-explaining).
