How can I fix frozen Email screen on iPhone 8?

Resolved issue. Another community member posted solution for iPhone 6. It also worked for iPhone 8.
Press increase sound button once, press decrease sound button once.
Then press off button until Apple symbol appears.
When I went to inbox, screen was unfrozen and I could resume normal email functions.
