Problems after Sonoma 14.6.1

I got the update to macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 (23G93)

and

Safari Version 17.6 (19618.3.11.11.5)

last night - not auto installed because Terminal won't quit while my ping script is running.

This is on a 2018 Intel MacBook Air.

I finished the install this morning and noted since then

- NO Time Machine backups until I rebooted the machine. After the reboot it took a LONG time to mount my backup partition. Several minutes after the other partition on that drive. Time Machine now works.

- Safari locked up twice while having a bunch of windows open. High speed fan use too. Used Force Quit both times.

- I tried Safari a third time, never started (saw the bouncing animation for a couple minutes and then it stopped).

- Reboot after that third try of Safari failed. It got stuck on a screen showing the background only (no windows). I had to use the manual power off / on to bring it back up.

Is anyone else having these kinds of problems?

I submitted Reports to Apple - perhaps they have the information needed to help diagnose the problems.

Not happy.

Crowdstrike has fixed the issue.

Things should now start go going back to normal.

"

CrowdStrike identified a performance issue with a cloud service that may cause degraded performance and boot times for some customer systems. This issue impacted customers in our EU-1 cloud. CrowdStrike Falcon customers are still protected.

CrowdStrike has scaled the impacted cloud service. Sensor performance is stabilizing. CrowdStrike is continuing to monitor the situation.

my mac freezes in black screen with cursor for several seconds every time i open the screen. before the update, it instantly show the screen or even the browser you left before closing the lid. now it freezes black but i can see that it is open because the audio is playing when you're on the browser but the screen is black about 5 to 10secs. then after the screen shows when on log in, the finger print and the keyboard is unresponsive for another while before you can type, before, it instantly unlocks after you put the finger print.. I've tried several methods, shutdown, safemode, erase memory but stil it freezes. is there anyone who have experience the same issue?

also it took longer to boot

Updated to 14.6.1 and now all of a sudden I'm having issues with Music app.

I can't modify playlist names; tracks added or deleted to playlists are not saving; New folders and playlists are not being saved. Really frustrating, as I use these features to create weekly playlists for work. Essentially, I'm not able to make any changes to my files in Music. Really disappointed that Apple should release an upgrade that causes these kind of issues.

I have the same problem with using a USB hub. Apparently the security settings have been updated to remove the option for you to permit all connections. The only resolution I have for this issue to to restart my computer. With the hub, the only ports that do not work are the USB hubs. The port for the usb-c cord to charge the computer and the HDMI still work, but the computer doesn't recognize any of the USB ports connected. This means my headphones and the printer I connect do not work until I restart the computer.

Since the update, I now have to regularly restart my computer multiple times a day. I wish they would just leave the switch back in the system settings so I could turn the ports on/off manually instead of wasting the time to restart the computer. I tried using another hub and restarting the printers, but none of those options were aside from hard rebooting the computer.
