Final Cut Pro 10.8.1 Filtering Clips

After updating to FCP 10.8.1, I now have problems with the filters on the clips. Unused does not work at all and always shows me all clips.

I also don't see the orange line that should actually indicate that this clip has already been used. When I restart FCP, I can see which clip was used, but when I work on the project, the orange lines disappear again.

How can you release an update and destroy functions that worked before.

Impossible to work efficiently like this.


Has anyone experienced this problem too?

I'm using a MacBook Pro M3 Max have Sonoma 14.6.1 installed and using now FCP 10.8.1 since two days ago.


My media are taken by iPhone 14 with the that codec: HEVC, MPEG-4 AAC.


I will attach you a screen shot where you can see that there is no orange line which tells me that this clip is already used.


I did work on another project this week and finished that before updating to FCP 10.8.1 and I haven't seen that issue in the finished project (same media etc.) . I did delete the preferences as recommended by Luis but nope. It shows unused event if the clips are in the timeline. Switching back to all clips no orange line.

We are just users like yourself.

Did you try deleting preferences? Always worth a try when something is not working correctly.


I see the orange lines, and apparently choosing "Unused" seems to be workin too, but admittedly I only tested briefly.


If you find this to be a bug, use the feedback from the application: Final Cut Pro->Provide Final Cut Pro feedback...
