What is highest macOS that can be installed on my iMac 21.5-inch 2017?

iMac 21.5-inch 2017 is it out of date or is it possible to update it an make Update on different software

The App Store likes to hide all but the most current version of macOS, so to download newer versions of macOS, you'll want to use this Support article:


How to download and install macOS - Apple Support


If you upgrade to Catalina or later, 32-bit applications will stop working. The functions of iTunes will also be broken up between several applications (Music, TV, etc.) and the Finder. I would suggest going straight to Ventura – since Catalina and Big Sur are no longer among "the most recent three", and Monterey soon won't be. Ventura should be one of "the most recent three" for another year or so.
