Why are my templates being overwritten in Pages?

Whenever I add a new Template in Pages it seems to replace another existing template. However, the screenshot of the old template is there, but when I try to click on it, the new template pulls up. Any idea why this is happening? OR what to do to correct it? A lot of old templates are being over written and I'm naming them different things. In my job I have several templates so this is a pain.
