In the standard line photo edit I can’t crop my photo s anymore which i could do yesterday. . There is a little yellow heart above “adjust” which I also can’t remove. Probably locked in a certain format now. How can I edit again ?

The heart thing (it's really a triangle) is a pointer showing which of the editing options you've chosen: Adjust for exposure type settings; Filters that can be used; Crop for cropping tools. You make the choice by tapping on the chosen icon.
Are you saying that when you tap on the Crop icon, that the pointer won't move off Adjust? Will it move to Filters?
Is this a picture that you took, or something you acquired from a source other than your camera?
Have you tried a forced restart?
