Then that should be a 2024 iPad Air model.

The link I provided you tells you that that model can use either the Apple Pencil Pro or the Apple Pencil (USB-C) versions.

The differences?

The short answer:

The Apple Pencil Pro is geared towards professionals and power users who need the best performance and features, while the Apple Pencil (USB-C) offers great value with the convenience of USB-C charging for a broader range of users.

The longer answer:

Here are the primary differences between these two Apple Pencils:

Design and Ergonomics

  • Apple Pencil Pro: The Pro version typically features a more refined design with advanced materials, offering a better grip and possibly a slightly different shape for improved ergonomics, especially for prolonged use.
  • Apple Pencil (USB-C): This version maintains minimalist design of the original Apple Pencil, but with the added convenience of USB-C charging.

Performance and Features

  • Apple Pencil Pro: The Pro version includes enhancements like lower latency, increased pressure sensitivity, and more customizable buttons or gestures, making it ideal for professional artists and designers who need precision and control.
  • Apple Pencil (USB-C): The USB-C version lacks some of the advanced features found in the Pro model. It’s designed to be a versatile tool for a wider audience.

Charging and Connectivity

  • Apple Pencil Pro: The Pro model supports wireless charging, and connects magnetically to the side of compatible iPads models.
  • Apple Pencil (USB-C): This version uses USB-C charging, making it more versatile for users with a variety of USB-C devices.
