I have name people in Photo

Hello

I have name people in a photo in "Photo" ; the photo represent a lot of member of my family many years ago

I would like it to share this photo with all the names to all member of my family having Mac or PC.

How can I export this photo !

This a small "screen copy" of part of the image (me in 9/1977)

Screen copy is not a very good solution because the resolution is poor.

Thanks in advance for your help

Cyril

There isn't a way to export the photo with the name tags at the full resolution.

You could duplicate the photo and then write the names directly as a graphic overlay into the copy, using the Mac-up tool. Then export this copy with your own added text to share it. Use File > Export at the full size.

How to use the Mark-up Tool is described here: Use Markup to write or draw on a photo in Photos on Mac - Apple Support (CA)

this is a good suggestion for Apple. This is the place for it:

Feedback - Photos - Apple

And face names can’t be exported. There is no metadata standard for cataloging names with coordinates. I include names as keywords, but those must be alphabetical. And I include the names in position order in the caption, which does export in the metadata of the picture.

A method I have used is to just sent two copies: the original high resolution image, and a screenshot with names. It reminds me of some old family pictures I have from relatives that have a xerox copy attached with names under each person.

Of course, the usual method for old prints was to put the names on the back. Now I scan front and back of the pictures, and in some I've made a double wide copy showing the front and back. I can duplicate and crop that into two if needed.

Hello Richard,

Thanks for your answer.

This Family picture contains 30 members ; and a dog ! sitting on a staircase, so everybody is squashed

I had a lot of difficulty placing the names in "Photo" because of the background of the label that is taking too much room.

It's a pity there is not a strait way to export the picture with the names and to be able to have names in white (or a in defined colour) without the background rectangular label

PLEASE Apple ! can you improve "Photo" ?

I have to try to send it to another Mac user to see if the names are still there. I will take your idea for the PC users.

Thanks

Best

Cyril

I have done it this morning.

More we are asking for it, more there is chance they do the improvements.

This is the text I have post :

------------------

Hello

It will be great is you could give the possibility to add the faces names defined when you export a photo.

if you could add the option to suppress the label behind the name defined and you could give the possibility to define the colour of the names

Thanks in advance

Cyril
