If you haven't already: You could try re-starting your iPhone (deletes temporary files, re-establishes connections, may update recent setting changes, and often restores order if something is not working as expected). If needed: See how to: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

We don't know which brand and model your hearing aids are, so can only "guess" at possible solutions.
You may need to check with your hearing-specialist or the hearing-aid manufacturer (Eg: contact "support" on their website) for a possible hearing-aid firmware update, or, if you use a hearing-aid app, check for app update.

Re: The info under accessiblity/hearing/connect says now this feature is only for iPhone products and to use Wi-Fi.
