To reset Siri to respond to your voice, go to Settings > Siri & Search and turn off the option for "Listen for 'Hey Siri'". Now if you turn it on again and follow the steps, Siri should learn and respond to your voice.

Siri recognition on a phone isn't limited to specific voices. It sounds as if your husband may be a louder person than you.

Do you have this problem when your phone is in your hand? Do you have problems with the microphone on other apps? Try creating a test memo in the Voice Memo app.
