Enable Spotlight Indexing on External Drive

As the title suggests Spotlight does not search files or folders on several of my external drives. Adding and removing it from the privacy option to re-index does not work.

I run this mdutil -sav command in terminal and get the following information

MACNAME:~ usuario$ sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/TM\ DRIVE NAME

/System/Volumes/Data/Volumes/DRIVE NAME:

Indexing and searching disabled.

how do i enable this? I also deleted the hidden index file and restarted the computer. no help.

It's APFS Volume.

MacBook Air, macOS 14.5
