This account is locked and cannot be used.

Hi, I am planning to get my first Apple product, but my Apple account with my primary email address is blocked for some reason and there is no "request activation" button. I am in Europe and the country I am in does not provide English support if I call the support center. Is there any way to restore my account?


Suggestions I saw on Internet that I've tried so far:

  • Apple suggestions on the Apple websites which are leading to request activation.
  • Try to log in on an Iphone and see if the "request activation" button appears.
  • Apple support on an Iphone does not help, redirecting me to Apple website.

You have not provided the exact error message which would indicate a specific solution. The support article If your Apple ID is locked, not active, or disabled - Apple Support has solutions for three frequently encountered reasons for an account to be disabled/locked/not-active. It is also possible that Apple has permanently locked the account and it cannot be recovered.


If you can call Apple where you are now, you will have to see if you can find somebody there to help you talk to them. Apple has made it very difficult if not impossible to reach assistance in another country.
