It’s an update that addresses an issue with Advanced Data Protection on iCloud storage. The iPhone needs to be plugged into a Mac or PC and the rereleased version will be available. Apple may be able to change that shortly, I’m not sure. If you don’t have access to a PC/Mac just keep checking your usual method. If you’re not an Advanced Data Protection user, you can just not worry about it. September is just around the corner so expect weekly updates.

Thank you!

A question to a more expert user ( you ) 👍 on all things iOS and related subjects

According to Apple security releases

iOS 17.6.1 was released 07 Aug 2024

Was there a Re-release of 17.6.1 yesterday Aug 19, 2024 ?

I ask, as I just checked iPhone 15 Pro with the 17.6.1 installed from 7 August

No new updates presented

PS - Congrats on Last " Wednesday Wins " well earned 😎

FYI

Unable to update my Apple Watch iOS Operating system either on 8/20/24 either. Fone app response, “watch has no internet connection”. Patient agent spent about an hour trying work-around. Finally, we both burned out and she gave the local Apple Support fone number. Before taking the watch up there, I will give Apple a day or two and hope they do the right thing and fix the iOS update to save me a trip down to the local service center where I know they will try the same reset with their enhanced copy of iOS to override the glitch.
