If I change my iPhone’s region, can I change it back to the previous obe I was on?

For example, my device is set in Germany, let’s say I change it to the United States, will I still be able to change it back to Germany?

iPhone 11, 18

You'll also need a valid payment method from the region you wish to change to or back to each time.

Also, you'll need to cancel any active subscriptions you may have and wait for them to expire before you can change regions.

From the description, I'd say Amar is referring to the region in the unit's Settings, not the one for their Apple ID. There aren't any prerequisites for this.

That change is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things. It changes how measuring units are displayed, and it makes some things unavailable or available in the Wallet app but that's about it.

Also, this was posted in the Apple ID forum so... 😉

Hopefully they come back and clarify what they meant.

Indeed. Same reason they require a verifiable payment method from the new region.

Again something Apple does not say. They say "for" the new region, not "from". You might argue it is semantics but it does have a different meaning. They also talk about "international" card usage in their documentation. I just go by what Apple actually says rather than trying to do the final interpretation. Their final limiting mechanism might be more subtle such as wanting a billing address in the same country, not where the card is issued.

In my experience, this question usually comes up when someone wants to download an app that is not available in the region they live in.

Agreed.

That's why I believe they want to change the Apple ID region, not the iPhone's internal region.
