Remove pre-filled invitees from list within calendar

I’m unable to remove individuals from the pre-filled “invitee” list when making a calendar entry.

I was recently sent a calendar invite from someone and they included other people in the invite. Now those people are showing in my pre-filled list of invitees. This list appears when I make a new calendar entry and click on “invitees”. I don’t have these individuals in my contacts so I know they're pulling in from the previous calendar invites. There is no way to manually slide left/right on these names to delete them either.

I’ve already tried the following, and waited several days afterwards, with no luck:

-had the original person remove me as an invitee from the calendar entries that caused the issue

-had the original person delete the calendar entries that caused the issues

-deleted the calendar entries myself that caused the issues

Any help would be much appreciated. I only invite my husband to calendar entries and I fear that I may mistakingly invite one of these additional people by accidentally clicking on their name on the “invitee” list.

thank you!

Well, after digging around, I solved my own problem! I’ve included the solution below for anyone who might need it!

The issue is caused by Siri Suggestions. Solution:

  1. Settings > Calendar > Siri and Search
  2. Toggle off “Learn from this app” and then toggle back on again.
  3. Go back into your calendar and the list of invitees should be fully reset.
