Apple watch strap size compatibility

Hi, I have an Apple Watch SE (Gen 2) 44 mm. My wrists are quite small (6"). I have ordered a couple of straps in the 42/44/45 mm size and find that the straps are quite long (and not able to be trimmed). My question is, would the 38/40/41 mm straps be shorter in length but still connect to the watch properly or are the connector parts different? Thanks in advance!

No. The 42/44/45 and 38/40/41 refer to the size of the watch case, not the length of the straps.

You cannot use straps for smaller watch case sizes on larger watch case sizes.

The 41mm bands work with 38mm and 40mm cases; the

45mm bands work with 42mm, 44mm, and 49mm cases.

The Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop bands are only compatible with

Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 or later. The 40mm and 41mm

cases work with band sizes 1–9; the 44mm and 45mm cases works with band

sizes 1–12.

You need make sure you buy the shorter length straps for the case size you have, some bands will be adjustable and the metallic linked ones can have links removed to shorten them.

For sized bands you can use the following guide to determine your size:
