Opening music files with itunes no longer creating album folder within artist folder

Hi

I recently had my computer start up hard drive changed, so had to reinstall itunes. I dragged and dropped my music files in and itunes has accessed all my songs. I had to go in and uncheck certain songs again (I have more than my 160GB Classic can hold, and also had to redo my playlists) That was a ballache.

However my main problem is this

When I convert a track from vinyl to Mp3 using Audacity, when I now click on the file and ask to open in itunes, it still does so, but when I go to recently added folder and complete the details on Album Info (song title, artist, album name, etc) it is no longer creating an album folder within the artist, and instead just leaves the song loose in the main folder. I thought it may be that I needed to check the Reorganise files in the folder "itunes music" box in library, but all that did was move all my files to a new folder called music (all existing artist folders, and album subfolders are still there - thank god)

What do I have to do to get system to revert back to placing the file within the artist folder, and in the album subfolder?

I know I can manually create the folder and drag the file in but it used to do it for me.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Regards
