Can barely hear the other person on FaceTime

Since yesterday, whenever I FaceTime, I can barely hear the other person on the other side. It has nothing to do with volume and instead seems like a connection issue where it is always cutting out. I have used data and WiFi, both of which are very stable for me. I have restarted and updated my phone to no avail. I’ve also turned off FaceTime in settings and deleted the app off my phone. And also after that, nothing has worked. I’m so frustrated and hopefully there’s a fix for this! Thank you.
