How do I remove a date stamp from a photo?

Does anyone know how to remove date stamp from photos in a MAC computer? My PC does it easily, but can't find a way to do it in my new MAC Book Air.

Is the date stamp written as text into the photo?

Then use the Retouch tool to erase it. The Retouch tool is available, when you open the photo in Edit mode, then click the "Adjust" tab.
