I'd like to exchange a brand new computer for the same model just different color. I didn't buy directly from an Apple Store, but I didn't buy the correct color and was wondering if apple would do a color exchange?

You will need to contact the merchant you purchased it from. Of course Apple gives you 14 days, but that only applies when purchased from the Apple Store or Authorized Apple seller.

Apple will not exchange your laptop simply because you bought the wrong color. If you bought directly from Apple, there is a 14 day window where you can return the device though.
You will have to reach out to the entity you bought this from and see what their return policy is.
You can return purchases to Apple within 14 days for any reason ... if you purchased from Apple. If not, you're subject to the merchant's policy.
