Profiles/MDM wants to make changes on Sonoma

Aug 2024. Why does "Profiles/MDM wants to make changes" keep popping up on my personal macbook air every 10-15 minutes? It's an M1 running Sonoma 14.6. This just started a week ago. My laptop is not, and never has been, owned or managed by an organization. I've had it about 2 years. Bought it new from Apple and it's less than 3 years old. How do I stop this?

I have Xfinity/Comcast as well for Internet/TV/Phone and also use their Gateway, and do not have that in my Profiles. Apparently you can set up a profile to automatically connect your Mac to a Xfinity WiFi hotspot when traveling, but I have never done that. The pictures provided in their article are for an older OS, but the details are the same. In my opinion, I would select it and remove it by clicking the "-" button.

Xfinity has a network that you may see at  > System Settings > Wifi, that is called "xfinitywifi" that is their Hotspot that users can connect to. Every router offered by Xfinity broadcasts this network so other Xfinity customers can connect to it as a Hotspot. Your Mac should not be connected to this network and should instead be connected to the WiFi network that is set up on your router for your own home network.

If that doesn't stop the messages, then post the free EtreCheck report using the Additional Text option when posting. The report contains no personal information, but would show whether the Proton VPN still has files loading on startup that need removed.

I've never looked at the 'profiles' before. Currently it has a 'work or school account' sign in and 3 apparent settings for 'XFINITY wifi' (See below). I do pay Comcast/xfinity for my online connection. I don't have a work or school account and never have had one. Could this be related to a free Proton VPN I used for a bit? It was a data hog so I stopped using it, but I stopped using is a couple weeks before this thing started popping up.
