A new Epson XP-2200 will not connect by Wifi

Connection should be automatic but I am asked for the WPA2 code. I tried the code for my router but it was not accepted. I do not know how to find the WPA2 code for the new printer. When I try to enter der=tails of the printer in 'Printers and Scanners' I cannot type them in,there is no blinking cursor.

You could also use an Epson Smart Panel app from an iPhone for setup purposes.

If there is a problem, another way would be to try WPS (either a push-button or a PIN method), if the router supports it. See https://www.epson.com.au/support/downloads/RedirectLink.asp?ProductID=ExpressionHomeXP-2200&Email=&DownloadID=17171 (pages 78-80)

This printer can be used in an infrastructure mode (connected to a Wi-Fi router = your wireless home network). This is the normal way (not to be confused with a Wi-Fi Direct connection, where the printer itself provides a Wi-Fi network). All devices that want to connect to your wireless home network must use the security code (and support the encryption type, such as WPA2) determined by your Wi-Fi router.

Just to make sure, is it the printer or your Mac that is having issues connecting to your local Wi-Fi network?

"WPA2" is a wireless security standard, that requires that you enter a password to access the Wi-Fi network protected by this type of security.

This is configured on the wireless router that you are accessing with either device. In turn, each of these devices would need to know the wireless network name & this wireless password to access it.
