HDMI and USB-C display not working at the same time

Hello - I am trying to get both of my displays working with my Macbook Air 15" - 2024 model M3. I have one display that takes a USB-C as input and another that takes HDMI. I am able to display to the USB-C monitor and the HDMI monitor one at a time but when I plug them in at the same time it will only take the first input that I plugged in.

Check the specifications for your Mac: MacBook Air (15-inch, M3, 2024) - Technical Specifications - Apple Support

The spec says: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display at 1 billion colors and:

  • One external display with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz
  • Close the MacBook Air lid to use a second external display with up to 5K resolution at 60Hz

Your computer supports 2 displays, the internal display and 1 external display, or, 2 external displays if the intenal display is not on.
