Got a message using your app order using apple pay of 500$ plus has been successful and has a dispute number is this a scam

This was a text message i dont use apple pay but did try signing up for it several months ago is this a scam or do i need to panic and trace it down

Apple Pay: Is an unauthorized purchase attempt a scam? I just received a message saying someone attempted to make a substantial purchase with my ApplePay. I've been given a phone number to call, and told they've frozen the order. I haven't made such a purchase, but am not sure whether the contact is legitimate or a scam. Advice?

Unverified Apple Pay Usage text message Hello, I received a text message from a number (+212 6 96 xxx xxxx) that said I had a pending $287.99 charge from an Apple Store in FL from Apple Pay. I do not have my card information on Apple Pay anymore. The text message also said that I had unauthorized sign-in attempts and Apple Pay set-ups from unknown devices. Is this a text scam? I also just wanted to check and make sure everything was okay with my Apple account. Thank you! [Edited by Moderator]

Yes, it is a scam attempt. Do not interact with the message or the sender.
