How can I return a lost AirTag to its owner?

Found AirTag trying to return it

serial number is HGMGDG****** There is no way to get a hold of them. I did receive tracking notification, then it disappeared.

You won't be able to find any information about the owner unless they choose to provide it. They can still track the device, so they know exactly where it is. Be safe! Putting them in a neutral location like lost and found or police station may be your best option, so they can pick it up.

The only way you can find the owner of the AirTag is to wait for them to put it in Lost Mode to leave information. If the owner of the AirTag still has not provided any information to reach them, your best option is to give it to local law enforcement or lost and found, as Mac Jim ID said.
