I have tried reseting my ipad but no matter how long I hold the power button it will not reset. I’m able to take screenshots and tap the buttons and change the volume but other than that nothing. Whenever I turn it on it registers as if I’m not tapping on the screen and closes. Is there anyway to fix this?

This procedure is a bit tricky the 1st time you do it. Don't hesitate to repeat it. After pressing the volume buttons, do maintain the side button pressed until you see the Apple logo. This can take up to 20 seconds. Ignore anything you see on the screen until you see the logo.

Do not touch the screen at all. After pressing on Volume+, Volume-, keep pressing the side button. It takes 20 seconds or so before you'll see the Apple logo. Ignore the slider or anything on the screen. Only the 3 physical buttons are to be used to force a restart.
I see the slide to power off, but I cannot press/slide anything on my screen. It takes me to my passcode and I can’t press it. The only way it registers my taps is if I take as screenshot of my screen and press the buttons there. But if it takes me out I can’t tap.
My Ipad pro is stuck on home screen and I cannot press on my screen.
