When you want a video from YouTube, I would advise to not use QuickTime Player to record the screen, but instead download the original. Better quality (not extra transcoded), small file size, fast (no begin-end editing needed, unless you want a segment).
Download Youtube videos in mp4- SaveFrom.net
or
Online video downloader - SSYouTube.com
or
YT-DLP (command line binary for use with Terminal, if you don’t want to be profiled by websites)
When I click on it a window with documents is opened.
Then navigate to a folder where there is a movie and open it. Or drag 'n drop a movie on top of the QuickTime Player to open it.
I appreciate the help with YouTube video and the QuickTime Player.
I used SSYouTube.com and quickly downloaded videos.
I did think I should warn that the site also gave me an infection with a malicious notification app called Qumiho.co.in. This causes the computer to allow advertising from malicious websites.
Thanks. That started me in the right direction. I need to record YouTube Drug commercials for a talk. Not yet there but now made some progress.
