MacBook Pro M2 (2023) Charging Issue Below 20% Battery

Hello everyone,

I'm facing a charging issue with my 2023 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip. My MacBook Pro doesn’t seem to charge when the battery drops below 20%. I’ve confirmed this by testing with my docking station: when the battery is below 20%, it charges fine through the docking station, but not with my regular charger.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or does anyone have suggestions on what might be causing this?

Disconnect all devices from the laptop and only connect the Apple power adapter & charging cable to see how it behaves.

Are you using the Magsafe 3 charging cable or USB-C charging cable? Magsafe & USB-C charging can behave differently. If you using a Magsafe 3 charging cable has problems, then try using a USB-C charging cable instead. If the former does not work, but the latter does, then you have a hardware issue of some sort.
