How do I recover the newest Excel spreadsheets I worked on last week?

Hi everyone! I have been on the computer for 4 hours trying to figure this out but all the YouTube etc. do not share how to do this with MAC. I had two excel spreadsheets I edited last week but I guess never saved so today when I came on, it was the old version without the new information in there. No one seems to be able to direct me to finding the one I X out of but never recently saved. Is this possible? I have two very important spreadsheets and no way to know what information I put in last week.
